Shell Safety Day 2015

Events were held as part of the May 6 Shell Safety Day program. Within the framework of the event, which started at 10.00 in all of Turkey, Shell Turkey CEO Mr. Felix Faber and Shell Turkey Retail Sales and Operations Manager Burçin Toktamış visited our company. The selection of our company among 1200 stations and 40 warehouses, terminals, factories and 50 contractors has been an indication of the importance we attach to health, safety and the environment and has honored us. We would like to thank Shell for their valuable visit and for their contribution to our HSE Awareness through the traditional Safety Day event.

We participated in the events at stations and workshops in 30 provinces, especially in the Tora center. During the event, which lasted an average of 1 hour, emergency information, presentations, videos and many Proactive and Reactive risk assessments were made. This evaluation was shared with all employees and we tried to help increase HSE Awareness awareness. We broadened our perspective on risk by giving ideas. During the training, we took care to provide an interactive environment. Goal zero accident was once again emphasized and the 12 golden rules were reminded. The theme of this year’s safety day was road safety and human safety. Person safety is geared towards improving our view of how to achieve Goal Zero every day. At this event, we shared some good information about improving this situation with case studies to assess the amount of risk taken on a daily basis and determine if there are ways to improve your safe behaviors based on the risk – not the likelihood of injury. Contribution to the World Health Organization’s “10 Years of Action on Road Safety” project with activities to increase the safety awareness of Shell employees and all drivers with “road awareness”, which is another focus topic

Shell & Turcas also contributes to the “10 Years of Action in Road Safety” project launched by the World Health Organization on May 11, 2011 and will continue until 2020 through Safety Day activities. According to the WHO report, the leading cause of death for children and adolescents aged 5-29 is traffic accidents.

On this occasion, we would like to emphasize once again the importance of attention, the quality of the materials used and safety, from the work we do in our daily life and in our business life to the products we use.
